Ten Thousand Ways Website Up
Submitted by Chuck on Fri, 2007-06-08 17:38. camping | Gatherings | Meatspace Meetings | Rhizome | Ten Thousand Ways | Regional & Local Groups | Ashland | ORWell, ladies and gents, the Ten Thousand Ways website is up and cranking with info for the 2007 gathering.
You'll notice on the page itself (tenthousandways.org) that while we've got the area pegged down, we haven't chosen a specific location. Last time, at 10KW'06, we had about 15 people, with room for about three times that number, or four times that number if we really packed people in.

Living in a Dream
Submitted by nene on Fri, 2007-03-09 16:39. camping | community | Drunken Revelry | Gatherings | Southern Ish Convention | CarencroPerhaps I'm ready. I'm not entirely certain, but at least I am ready to try...
Last week as we prepared to head down the Mississippi, Chicago to Carencro, I was bursting from the seams with excitement. On multiple levels: the simple opportunity to be away from work and home and all the day to day bullshit that we all encounter; the opportunity to meet new old friends; the opportunity to see and hang with old old friends; the chance to experience a new place, to feel it, breathe it, live it.
Cooperative Rewilding Gathering
Submitted by Tony on Fri, 2007-03-09 14:20. camping | Cooperation | Gatherings | Hunting and Gathering | Rewilding | Tribal Recruitment | MidWestThis is a placeholder event for the ongoing discussion of Ishthink's Memorial Day gathering, as we remember the atrocities of civilization, we recommit ourselves to 'saving the world' in the best way we know how, by doing something different, hopefully something better.
Let's take advantage of civilization's 'free days'

We were throwing around some ideas for the next gathering, and I was thinking of coming up with a cycle of gatherings based on civilization's 'free days', like memorial day, labor day, new years day, and a few others.

The Road to Carencro (an Ishthinkathon)
Submitted by JCamasto on Fri, 2007-03-09 07:42. Bechet House | Gatherings | Ishmael | Southern Ish Convention | Carencro | LADays before departure I had prepped the aging clanivan, my work mule/toolbox, for the long haul to Bechet House. I picked up Jim, Janene & Goldie in snowy DeKalb, and we turned south, to follow the Mississippi to it's delta.
Hunting for a Party
Submitted by Tony on Tue, 2007-03-06 15:30. Gatherings | Hunting | Leaving | Unlocking Food | Carencro | LAWe had a great time at the Bechet (Bay-Shay) House in Louisiana! It was a lot of fun meeting new people, getting to know our Southern kin, and chowin' down on some amazing Cajun food!
There were nature hikes, long philosophical discussions, homegrown music, and even a sweatlodge.
