Hey, everyone!
You may know that I've been paying for IshThink since it started up 20 months ago. I didn't intend to be the sole benefactor for quite this long. I can hardly believe this much time has passed already!
I've been awfully busy during the lifetime of this board. I've moved into and out of and back into my house, I've ended three major relationships, I've traveled to the other side of the planet, I've become a permaculture designer and started a business as a holistic health and environmental consultant (alas, no paying customers yet). The whole thing has been with a special-needs toddler in tow. There's my excuse for not attending to the administrative matters of this site sooner than this...
Walking away from the Taker lifestyle I once lived has been rewarding and frightening and I'm not all the way there yet. I am now far wealthier in terms of meaningful relationships, I have really gotten much clearer on where I belong in this world, and I also feel that I've gone beyond some crucial point at which it was possible to turn back. Each day I am more certain that this risk must be taken; we must, for our own human potential, make an effort to free ourselves from the current mess that is the dominant cultural lifestyle.
This process also has its costs. For me those costs have been in terms of major relationships that are now severed, and those costs are also financial. The money means very little to me - it's just a technicality - but, as with all material things, there are limits. Compared to my former life, I'm now very, very cash-poor.
I've received my bill for IshThink domain registry for the next similar period of time. The bill is due on September 16th and I've decided not to continue supporting IshThink on my own. With your support, I'll be happy to renew, but I'm going to step down as "sole benefactor" and let the community take care of itself (financially) from now on. Now's the time to click pn that PayPal "donate" button, or contact me to find out other donation options.

Hi, it's been about $500 (U.S.) so far, and the bill that's due on September 16 (or 14, can't remember at the moment) is $140 for another two years of domain registration. I figure if I get a couple hundred bucks by then, I can use the money to re-register the domain and pay for another few months of hosting ($20 per month). Another possibility is to only renew for one year.

Done. Hopefully other people will donate too. Let me know if you get close but not quite enough and I'll see if I can drop another few dollahs. If you decide to give up IshThink, then consider my donation towards what you've paid in the past. Thanks for everything you've given so far.

So, today's the 16th. 2 donations? Really? Me being one of two people to step up and keep this place alive? So, tell me straight - is this the end of IshThink? If today's the date (or if we can still make it survive) let me know and I'll try to kick down another donation amount. I'd rather the community at large do it (since I don't have a lot of money) but I'd rather see this place stay afloat... for the betterment of our entire culture of belief.

Hey Aaron, I got enough donations to cover another year of domain name registry, so that's what I did!
The time pressure is off, and I'm just "being open to receiving" contributions to the ongoing monthly cost ($20) per month, which would be $240 over the upcoming year.

Hey Laura - thanks for all of the time and money you've put into making this site possible. Many of us, including myself, have benefitted from its existence.
If you would be willing, I'd like to know how much this site costs. What is the amount that you are needing by September 16th and how much have you received so far? I would like to donate an amount, but would like to know how much is enough.
