Four Path Wisdom

| | | |

Sad to say, this will be a short post (getting too late over here!) but I HAVE to share this with someone.

All right -- I posted the White Road a while back and I've been considering a legend of 4 groups of people set off in four different directions. I know it's a metaphor (probably) but it gives me a way to break down the world and re-arrange it into different patterns. And then I come upon this in the recesses of my brain (yea brain!).

Rhizome on my mind

Observations:

1) My Grandfather, Coyote, is a busy sort.  He breeds with dogs which really messes up that 'domesticated' part and makes them nicely feral.  Coyote also has a thing for wolf; she's now had enough good times with wolf to make a neat Eastern Coyote crossbreed that combines the tough parts of wolves and coyotes.

Kafka in Reverse

If you've been through the school system, you're probably familiar with the story about the man who mysteriously turned into a vermin (that's the technical translation from German; "cockroach" is what the English translators decided to make it).  Then the man/vermin's world shrinks and he finally dies from an infection caused by an apple stuck in his back.

We Won

| | | | | | |

I'm going to start this post by saying I'm a believer in Godesky. I find his posts thoughtful and well-researched. When challenged on things, he will look for more evidence to back up his claims or modify what he's said appropriately. All of this means that when he states that he believes we reached the peak of our civilization around 50-100 years ago, I listen.

My Sneaky Grandfather (the Fate of Los Angeles)

This story starts with a book I just finished "Eat, Pray, Love."  Wonderful book, highly recommended if you'd like to get away from the gloomy fare many of us read for 'fun.'  In it, a woman takes a year off to chase her passions, learn how to pray, and finally find those parts of herself she was missing.  Truly a delightful read.

Ask an Animist!

| | | | | |

Some say you will find no better test of your own knowledge than when you teach it to others, so with that...

Hello! I'm an animist. I devote my life to the spirits. With the number of agnostics, atheists and interested seekers out there, I figured it would be fun to open up a Q & A thread.
