Ishmael Houston Group - Monthly Discussion Meeting and Social

The Ishmael Houston Group holds a monthly meeting on the 2nd Saturday of each month, usually around 3 or 4PM. The location varies, but it's usually inside the Loop. Look for the table with the stuffed animals (monkeys, teddy bear) to find the group. You may also PM Amanda and ask for her cellphone number.
This monthly meeting is more of a social event and informal discussion, although sometimes there is a specific topic. We discuss anything and everything from Daniel Quinn's books to saving the world and everything in between: environmentalism, politics, future meetings and activities, Takers vs. Leavers, sustainability, population, social issues, books, movies, TV, etc.
What you can bring:
Plastic shopping bags (a group member knits them into handbags and totebags)
Recycling glass bottles and jars, cans, plastic (#1 or 2), newspapers, magazines, office paper, corrugated cardboard. Another member can take them to the recycling center for you.
Composting: Amanda has a composting pile in her yard and will take your plant-based waste.
