Forum for the "toxic" subjects
Im requesting a new forum thread where topics that are understandably the "untouchables" and the controversial and radical position and wonder if that is possible here. I dont really dare to post examples of topics yet because Im unsure of this forums policy. But it seems to me that it could contribute with important information by taking a completely odd and maybe even insulting perspective, and by having it "contained" in a specific forum; the user can be forewarned that this is discussions on toxic subjects. Im thinking esepcially about the "feminist view on civilization" thread, wich imo is not a "valid" perspective and also insulting and insensitive, but yet strangely informative because of the varied responses.
Another, quite different question. Im having a slight problem when Im trying to log in, I seem to have tolog in twice before the logging in takes effect. This is what happends; I write my name and password, click on "log in", then the page is uptadet, but I am still not logged in, so I write down my name and password a second time, click on "log in" and now it works. Just a minor thing as I said, but I still wonder if there is something in my browser that is causing the problem or if you allready know about it.
What is your response techies?
Regards/Bong

I think people will be able
I think people will be able to avoid topics they find distressing or offensive, without a separate forum. I think the Soapbox is a fine forum for controversial topics, personally.

Hi Bong
I agree with William about the forums openness. This site is really run by the users, so if something is truly offensive all they have to do is vote it down (for Blogs). As for forum posts, I can add a function to "report" to Admin if that would be acceptable?Â

As for the login issue, it could be many many things. If it happens, try these, in this order:
- Disregard the login box the second time, you might be logged-in already
- Flush your Browser's cache/cookies
- Turn off your firewall (Zone Alarm,etc.. ) and see if that's it.
If many people encounter this issue, I'll spend time looking into the possibilities on this side. It's more than likely on the user's side.

Stupid Captcha
Hey --
I replied this morning... but apparently I didn't...
I have had this a few times... specifically, once I made a forum post, then was disallowed from viewing anything and finally realized I was not logged in. So I went to the home page and logged in... but it didn;t take, so I went to the home page again and repeated the login and then it was fine. The other time, it did not automatically log me in when I arrived, so I went to the home page... rinse, repeat.
I'm running the newest Firefox... but when this ocured I was on an older version, and WinXP...

Sceptic,
I understand you are looking for ways to encourage people to dicuss things like sexuality, politics and religion, all dinnertable no-no's in America. But let's talk about violence all you want...
But I think that we can have dangerous conversations within the context we already have. Go ahead and have those conversations, and if it seems there are enough topics to warrant a subforum, then we'll go there, it's not hard, but we would almost need to have a few distinct sets of conversations first so that the subforums would appear to need to exist. Perhaps you have a vision that is larger than your initial words. please feel free to share more.

On the forum, I thought the soapbox would cover that. I, personally, don't see the need. Talking about subjects doesn't really bother me that much usually. However, if others here see importance here, by all means speak up.
On the login thing, it's happened to me too a couple of times. I wrote it off as a fluke, but I suppose we should look into it. Anyone who is having this problem, please respond with OS and version, and browser and version.
